GeForce RTX 5000: Release Date and Specifications Becoming More Certain

Nvidia’s Plans for the Blackwell GPUs Take Shape

Industry insights reported by Benchlife suggest Nvidia’s plans for releasing its Blackwell GPUs are becoming clearer, including leaked specifications for the RTX 5070/Ti. While still unofficial, the information sheds light on what to expect from Nvidia’s next-generation graphics cards.

A Post-New Year Surprise: Nvidia’s RTX 5000 Series

Those who make it through New Year’s celebrations in 2025 may have more to look forward to just days later: Nvidia is expected to launch its RTX 5000 series, built on the new Blackwell architecture. Though Nvidia has yet to officially confirm these plans, industry experts agree that the launch is imminent. At the forefront of this release is the GeForce RTX 5090, a flagship card poised to outperform the RTX 4090 and set a new standard for high-end GPUs. Benchlife, a tech source from China, has provided fresh details on the release timeline and specifications of these highly anticipated GPUs.

Q1 2025: A Critical Period for Nvidia

Benchlife’s report highlights Nvidia’s intention to roll out the GeForce RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070 during the first quarter of 2025. Models like the RTX 5060 Ti and 5060 might follow shortly after, potentially launching in April, placing them in the second quarter. Interestingly, the list also includes the RTX 5090D, a China-exclusive variant, but there’s no mention of an RTX 5080D, leaving some ambiguity about the company’s regional product strategy.

While these release windows seem likely, they are not yet definitive, as Nvidia has reportedly not shared official timelines with its board partners. Speculation around the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 specifications has also intensified, with Benchlife seemingly corroborating earlier reports from Videocardz.

Leaked Specs Paint a Clearer Picture

The RTX 5070 Ti is rumored to feature 8,960 FP32 cores and a total graphics power (TGP) of 350 watts—claims reportedly supported by one of Nvidia’s board partners. As for memory, the RTX 5070 Ti is expected to come equipped with 16GB of VRAM, operating on a 256-bit interface.

The RTX 5070, on the other hand, is believed to be built around the GB205 GPU with 6,400 FP32 cores. It will likely offer 12GB of VRAM, a detail that has fueled concerns about minimal upgrades compared to its predecessor, the RTX 4070, apart from the increased core count.

CES 2025: A Likely Stage for Key Announcements

Speculation suggests that Nvidia will use CES 2025 to officially unveil the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080. However, it’s less certain whether the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 will make their debut at the same event. With these developments, Nvidia appears ready to capture attention with its next-generation lineup, ensuring a strong start to the new year in the GPU market.
