North Korea-linked hackers are using artificial intelligence as part of their cyber operations, according to findings reported by a cybersecurity company.
The development does not mean that AI is replacing established hacking methods. Instead, researchers describe it as an additional tool that can help attackers work faster, process information and support different stages of an operation.
For defenders, the concern is scale. Tasks that once required more time and specialist effort can increasingly be assisted by widely available AI systems, allowing hostile groups to test more approaches and adapt their messages quickly.
The report adds to pressure on businesses and public agencies to strengthen basic protections. Updated software, multi-factor authentication, staff training and close monitoring remain essential even as attackers adopt newer technology.
