Verizon has announced accomplishment to connect smartphone to its 5G network. In collaboration Qualcomm, Motorola and Samsung, a video call and internet browsing over 5G link have been achieved by the Verizon.
Motorola Moto Z3 smartphone integrated with 5G Moto mod, used to enable the phone compatible with 5G, was trialed at Providence, Rhode Island. Samsung to collaborate the Verizon came with its 5G New Radio (NR) solutions whereas Qualcomm’s Snapdragon modem X50 5G and mmWave antenna module QTM052 was also used over Verizon’s spectrum of 25GHz mmWave to achieve the goal. To this incident Verizon has been counting Motorola Z3 as first of the 5G upgradable smartphones and a lead widening factor for Verizon towards 5G technology. Verizon is also aiming to be first in launching 5G upgradable smartphone to its network by 2019. Its holding of 28GHz and 39GHz in mmWave spectrum across diverse localities will give Verizon an extra edge of being 5G ready network.
Earlier in September Verizon had unveiled intension of launching its 5G Home across Houston, Indianapolis, Sacramento and Los Angeles by October, further expanding it to several other cities in later stages. Cable as its practical option without requirement of annual contract and with ease of no data limit restrictions, Verizon is providing a speed ranging from 300 Mbps to 1 Gbps upon its 5G Home service. A dedicated 5G support service expert, free router and its software updation during 2019, set-up and installation of all WiFi devices freely and above all, priority in getting Verizon 5G mobile device at their launching are some offers came up with the Verizon’s Home service.
In order to stabilize and also strengthen its wireless network in hurricane affected Panhandle and counties of Gulf and Bay areas, Verizon has chosen Panama City, Florida as fifth city where Verizon will start its 5G network services. For this Verizon has committed $25 million to build a 5G focused infrastructure of most advance wireless network in the area.
